I had an impromptu headshot shoot last night after seeing an amazing show up the street at the Hi-Dive – Jessica Lea Mayfield. Sir David Mayfield (Jessica’s best friend & older brother) accompanied Phil and I to The Imperial Building to visit my studio and snap a couple portraits of this incredible musician. I first saw David play with Cadillac Sky in January at The Soiled Dove. Phil invited me to go to this “bluegrass show” – my first bluegrass show EVER. I really didn’t know what to expect…I left the show wide-eyed & in awe at the harmonies, speed & passion that performed on stage. David played mandolin & guitar that evening, last night he played upright bass.

Ryan - David is quit unique and I love how you captured that in still-frame. My wife and I still refer to our first (and thusfar, only) Cadillac Sky performance as the most amazing musical experience of our lives. We left the Gray Eagle in Asheville, NC completely astounded and amazed. Magic occurred that night indeed.
