When Laura first called me and we shared a 5 minute phone call I immediately knew our shoot was going to be fun. We hit it off right away and our ideas for their shoot were melding together so well.
I was invited down to their home in Castle Rock in the late afternoon a couple weeks ago. Laura greeted me at the door and said “First things first…do you want Red or White?” Ha! It was so nice to sit and chat with the two of them while we each tasted our delicious glasses of wine. They gave me a tour of their GORGEOUS home & beautifully landscaped backyard. It was an ideal setting for their portraits. I feel so lucky to have been able to spend this time with Laura, Mike & their puppies capturing some intimate images for them – thank you Laura & Mike!
Scrapes, scratches & cuts are a special part of Laura & Mike’s relationship – hence this photo showing off Laura’s beaten up leg . They are both adventurous Coloradans and when they first met Laura had just endured a weekend of outdoor beating up. When Mike saw all her battle wounds he was instantly in love
So when Laura had a biking mishap a couple days before our shoot, instead of thinking “Oh No! These scrapes will be in the photos” she thought “Yes! Now I have scrapes to show off in our photos!”Their sweet doggie Tupelo. Named after the Van Morrison song!
