It was such a joy to revisit all my portrait sessions from 2011. It took me about a week to gather a folder of my favorite images from each shoot…and it was so hard to choose just ONE portrait for each. Looking back I am so grateful:

Grateful to have met every one of my amazing clients
Grateful to have grown though my experience with each client
Grateful to cultivate creativity
Grateful to have my passion be such a large part of my life
Grateful to share art with others

Clark & Carolyn are Engaged!

These two are so near and dear to my heart. Clark & Carolyn met earlier this year and have fallen madly in love with one another. I was honored when Clark asked me to accompany him a few months ago while he and his Mom went ring shopping for Carolyn…of course I brought my camera (and I’m so happy I can FINALLY share these photos!) Here are a few shots from our time at The Shane Co.

After Carolyn said “YES!” we planned their Engagement Portrait Session. We spent our time photographing & laughing on this glorious Colorado Mountain Morning.

I am so overwhelmed with joy & love for these love birds and I can not wait to be at their wedding next fall. Love you C&C.

Christina & CJ are Engaged!

When I first met Christina to talk about her wedding we had to schedule our appointment around her trip to NYC…so she could compete in the NYC marathon. Well, come to find out she place 2nd (yeah, 2nd in the WHOLE marathon) in female wheelchair racing. WOW! I was so impressed and intrigued. Then she tells me how she loves to race (and I found out it’s very common for her to place 1st or 2nd at most races!) I am so proud that I get to celebrate with this ambitious and adventurous couple at their wedding next month.

There was no shortage of smiles and laughs during out shoot (CJ is a crack up!) so I can only imagine how fun the party will be at their wedding!

Courtney & Nick are Engaged!

We actually shot these fun portraits over a month ago but due to the wonderful amount of shooting happening here at the studio I’m only getting around to posting them just today. In fact, Courtney & Nick will only be considered “engaged” for 24 more hours…I shoot their wedding tomorrow! I’m very excited to spend an evening with these two and all their loved ones tomorrow. I know it’s gonna be a good time…

And a special thank you to Honey & Moose (Courtney & Nick’s very handsome doggies) for joining us at the park

After some sushi last night I asked Clark & Carolyn if they were game for shooting around downtown for a bit. It was the tail end of dusk and I wanted to try my hand at some On-The-Fly Night Photography. So I pumped up my ISO and opened my aperture all the way (2500 & 1.4 for all you photo geeks like me). What you see here is what happened…

Engagement Portraits: Scott & Rose

They finish each others sentences. They communicate through long silent eye contact. They laugh at the same silly words. They agree on debatable topics. Yep, they’re in love.

Scott & Rose live in Indiana but are celebrating with their friends and family here in Denver in just a couple months at their wedding. The two met here in Denver and moved back to Scott’s native land just over a year ago. One thing we continually commented on was the unseasonably fabulous weather we had during our shoot – gotta love Denver! And how the two of them should move back…I would LOVE this. We had so much fun at our shoot I’m looking forward to hanging with these two and all their friends at the wedding. If they move back then we can hang out even more!

Engagement Portraits: Chuck & Mary

It was a bright and warm Sunday morning when Chuck & Mary invited me over for a delicious brunch of Chuck’s famous breakfast tacos and mimosas – YUM! This was the perfect setting to capture Chuck & Mary for their engagement portraits. Plus we had the newest addition to their family, Gimlet (what a cutie!).

I had a blast spending a lazy morning with these three – as you can tell from the photos, there was no shortage of laughing!

Thank you Chuck & Mary for having me over and for all the deliciousness! I’m so excited and happy for the two of you

Mary read me her favorite limericks while Chuck slaved away over the stove…We ended the shoot with a few rounds of PacMan. I love their interaction…especially the failed high-five!
